The Valve Wizard Valve Analyser project has had an update that introduces some new features, notably the ability to fit actual sampled data to a variety of mathematical models for valves. This makes it much easier to recreate accurate design curves and also makes it possible to exchange device models between different software applications. In future, the plan is for the Valve Design Calculator (currently in development) to be able to import both raw sampled data and device models to make it easy to incorporate measured valve data into the design process.
The software has been substantially refactored to make it easier to follow:
- All of the model fitting code has been abstracted into a separate library that can be used across multiple QT Applications
- The code for manipulating the analyser hardware has also been abstracted out such that it is now entirely separate from the UI code in the QTMainWindow
